Gummi on Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin (1 comment)
A quick note for the Ubuntu crowd among our users, who may notice that Gummi is now a supported package in "universe". The PPA that we offer remains the recommended way for you to install & maintain the latest stable version of Gummi. We will match the support time for the packages in this repository with that of a given Ubuntu release, which will be the next 5 years for this particular LTS release. A modified package without the TeXLive dependency (gummi-notex) is also offered.
Gummi 0.6.3 out now (1 comment)
We have released another bugfix version in the 0.6.* series. The source tarball can be located on our downloads page, and packages for your distribution of choice should follow soon. In particular for this release, I would like to thank Guy Edwards and Robert Schroll, whose valuable bug reports have contributed greatly to the improvements made in this release.
Gummi 0.6.2 is available (4 comments)
The second bugfix release in the 0.6.* series has been released. The full changelog can be viewed here. Both the Gentoo and Arch linux packages have already been updated. Packages for other distributions will become available at a later time. Enjoy!
New Gummi for Windows (unstable) build out now (2 comments)
A new development build for our upcoming Windows release has been compiled and uploaded only moments ago. This build should still be considered unstable/experimental, but it includes many improvements and fixes based on problems that were reported with the original beta1 build. Existing users can overwrite their old installation by running the installer from the new build. See this wiki page for details and the download link. As always, we appreciate bug reports if you encounter problems.
Our new website is online (1 comment)
The Gummi project has been a very satisfied user of Redmine for a while now. Up until now we used a wordpress blog for the presentation of Gummi to users (front-end), whereas Redmine served as the development back-end. We always felt that having two separate systems for one product caused an unnecessary barrier.
To solve this inefficiency, we have integrated all the different components into our Redmine instance, with the help of a number of plugins and some good ol’ hacking. We are still in the process of bringing all the data back online (and writing new, more detailed documentation), but we hope you will enjoy the new site.
First (beta) build for Windows out now! (5 comments)
I’m pleased to announce that the first public test version of Gummi for the Windows platform is now available. This release is based on the latest 0.6.2 development code, and I’d like to emphasize that Windows-specific bugs are definitely still in there. This release is NOT meant for production use. However, those that would like to try it out can install the beta installer from here. Enjoy!
update: MikTeX is not yet fully compatible with Gummi, so TeXLive remains the recommended option for the moment.
Gummi 0.6.1 available (1 comment)
A bugfix release for the 0.6.* series is now available. We were very pleased with the feedback and bug reports that we have received in the last few weeks, and this version is the result of that. This version does not introduce any major changes, but does fix a number of issues that were found in our last release. The full changelog can be read here. Enjoy!
Gummi 0.6.0 available for download (1 comment)
After eight months of hard work (and missed deadlines), I am happy to inform you that Gummi 0.6.0 has been released. In this version, many of the most requested features have been implemented, including multi-tabs/documents, advanced compilation options, a continuous preview-mode and SyncTeX support. See the changelog for a complete list of improvements. I sincerely believe this is the biggest leap we’ve made from one version to the next, and I advise all, if possible, to upgrade. Enjoy!
Short-term development will now focus on creating a bugfix release for 0.6.0. Let us know if you are experiencing any issues with it, however minor. We also accept new or updated translations for this release. More details on contributions translations can be found here.
For packagers: Note that the requirements for the gtk/glib dependencies have been upped to 2.20 or higher.
